intermittent AC compressor

it needs a recharge of freon, lolz. I'm tellin ya..My house AC is like that right now...and all ACs work the same.

If your low on refrigerante it will cycle like that. If your full then it could be a faulty compressor clutch.

First I should apologize to imnothot02 for my "like your brain "comment. In my defense though I had a little left over rage from work and it was anon-answer. My AC is low on refrigerant, I get that part. Why (or how)does that make my compressor cycle on and off? That was the question. I am assuming that there is a pressure sensor or switch that is controlling the clutch engagement to keep thecompressor from burning out when the system is low or empty. Is this correct?
