I talk to some guys around here and they said that they had the same problem and it was the pick up in the distrbutor ever heard any thing about that? Do you still think it is worth the 2,000 that he wants for it?

Might be a fuel pump, or filter, but how long does it go for before it dies?

DOes this engine have a crank position sensor. my jeep did the same thing and that was the culprit. It would just suddenly shut down for no reason, then usually fire right back up. Couple of times would take a few minutes then could get it to start. On my 4 litre engine it was right by the bell housing on the back of the engine.

na you don't have to wait for it to restart you can just do it right away. The guy replaced the fuel pump already so i just hoping that is the problem

Is there a check engine light? Could be an o2 sensor, bad battery connection, etc... Check all the power cables, distributor etc...
Does it do it at the same time all the time or at random? If It was the distributor wouldn't it miss fire? O2 sensors can cause too much gas or air and speeds.
