Default TRUCK STILL RUNNING FUNKY AFTER LAWN SPRINKLER INCIDENT

My distributor is clear and dry . . . and i put in a new Throttle position sensor. BUT STILL The tempature guage sky rockets then goesplumets below C. I cant figure this out. Could it be my Coolant temp Sensor? And the idle is still out of whack at low rpm. Has anyone dealt with this before?? PLEASE HELP ME!! its a '01 V6

Sounds like you got some water in your distributor.

In addition to water in your dist. you possibly have water in your motor because of the intake.

You definitly have water in your engine if your temp. is jumping around. Check your oil for water. I would pull the plugs and turn the truck over for a few minutes, let the water and stuff spit out then change your oil. She will run great then!

I forgot to mention.. Dont engage your starter for too long, just give it about 10 trys at 5-10 seconds per try.

I bet what happend was the sprinkler was constantly spraying the dist. and all over the intake box, starting the truck most likely injected lots of water through the suck tube into the intake. A LITTLE water wont hurt any motor, but if your dist. is soaked, then yea, its not guna run hardly
