Default Speed Sensors n Fuel sending units

Hey everyone. I was wondering how many of you have had issues with the transmission mounted speed sensors and wether they were with the sensor itself or with the gear on the end. Also, has anyone been able to change just the potentiometer or reostat in the fuel sending unit instead of having to swap the whole thing. Are the parts available?

I've never had trouble with the speed sensor.

I have had the fuel sending unit fail. Couldn't find parts and had to change the whole assembly.

Yeah, that's what im running into too. I was able to bench test a speed sensor and saw definite results so I guess that at least if I pull mine and find that the input gear is ok, I'll be able to test the unit itself. At least that will help me isolate the problem.
