the freeze plugs turned into a nightmare, after dealing with them for 3 hours I said screw it and ordered 3 block heaters to put in. There's just not enough room to hammer in the plugs. The front 2 were no problem, just the other 3 on bottom (not including the one over the starter, straight shot) are a royal pain. Whacked the one pictured with a socket, it split right out the back and I had to knock the press ring out with a punch.

Took some pictures of how I have my mk 8 fan mounted as well. Just the 2 metal straps hold it in place, and the fluid bottles fit right over it.

Thumbs up

magnethead

Man you are cranking on getting your Dakota back together.

What is the fan assembly you are using?

I will need one in the next year or two.

Why are your freez plugs rotting out what happened thats not common is it?

the plan is to drive it home tomorrow.

I hung the fender before I left tonight, changed the water outlet, lower radiator hose, ect, obviously put the new radiator in.

All I really have left to make it driveable is reconnect the fender grounding point, put the belt on, cross fingers, and hope it starts and runs like normal.

The fan is the lincoln mark 8 fan.

Here's the complete schematic for my truck:

Relays in the 4-relay container I made (40A rating): http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/...E6Q52J0w%3d%3d

Relays for fans (70A rating): http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/...HmipXiYA%3d%3d

Both relays have mounting brackets/provisions, although not shown in image

well, I'm ready for hood and bumper. Only issue is that my fog/light bar isn't coming on and the wipers come on with radiator fan (see other topic). Need to finish removing the V8 decal and get that fender flare off.

O'r ordered the wrong size heaters, so I just put the rubber freeze plugs in. No idea how long they'll last, but got the job done. Gotta be better than what was there before.

got more pics of the radiator fan as well.

Well it looks like a truck again. But it sounds like a dying horse after 2800, need to figure out if it's from having the vacuum line unhooked that normally goes to cruise control, or if something got messed up that I didn't find.

I unhooked the washer pump and that seems to have fixed the wiper/fan issue for now, need to figure out how to knock those blanks out of the bumper, remove flare and V8 emblem glue, find a grille, and wait for headlights to come in.

I also got laid off today, so there goes my income. Job causes accident (why else would I be tired and driving at 7 AM?), job goes away, leaves me with cost of accident. But oh well.

ordered new HID ballasts (I'm hoping the bulbs are fine)

got my 55W driving lights hooked back up (the crash knocked out both H3 bulbs...didn't want to pay $22 for silverstars so I went with $7 traditionals)

Headlights arrive thursday

I got the new trans cooler/radiator fan harness made, just need to put it in

Need to tape up one of the right turn signal wires. The sheething got cut, but the wires themselves look fine.

Need to put cruise control back on

And I think that's it for emergency items. There is one other thing, but I'm giving that it's own topic.
