Default Oil pan gasket

I have a oil leak from the oil pan. it is leaking on one of the corners. the gasket is the original gasket. (19 years old)

Will I be able to change the gasket without completely removing the oil pan?

I need to lift the engine to take the oil pan off and I don't want to do that.

It looks like the pan will drop an inch or two without lifting the engine.

Do you think i will be able to change the oil pan gasket without removing the oil pan?

maybe I can use the liquid gasket in the leakey corner?

Anyone?

I feel like there is enough "stretch" to the gasket that I can replace it only dropping the pan an inch.

I have the same issue with a 1997 V8 Dakota. I can see the gasket is coming apart and is stringy on the corner of the oil pan (20-year-old gasket). The oil pan won't come out without doing the engine lift, but it looks like it will drop an inch and I wonder if I can replace the gasket without totally removing it. I have heard people on the internet say it could be done.

Drop the pan as far as it will let you. Clean the area with a toothbrush, dampened with brake cleaner, then a rag. Apply black Permatex RTV, hand tighten, wait an hour then torque.
