yep. Noticed that when I replied. Just got a used rango this spring. Thought I'd chime in in case another new member like me was looking for help. Thanx all the same,

a different method some say work
1.turn on key without starting the engine and with belt unbuckled.
2.buckle and unbuckle till you hear a chime.
this allows the chime to ding at start up then the light comes on but no chime.

there is a duscussion of this on the dodgrboy.com site under 2004 durango.
I tried the 1st method multiple times to no avail.
The second method worked on my 05 dodge durango. Thanks so much!
