Default WEll I did it! CAI installed

So i listened to most everyone here and asked for a CAI for Fathersday. It came with everything but distructions.
So this morning I dug into the car and pulled out the air filter, and hoses and supporting equipment. I then installed the new intake, and didnt like the way it just hung in that big empty space open to the elements. So I put the bottom 3/4 of the air box back, and have the new air filter resting nicely in there with the top open. I hope this is how it was ment to be. Without the box, the filter is just hanging unsupported, and open to the elements from below.

I am not so much interested in the extra HP, or the new sound (though it does sound alot better), I am really hopping to see that extra 3 to 5 MPG.

Good luck with the mpg. Ive been wanting to do this, just didnt want to start a project and mess things up. On a scale of 1-10,how would you rate this installation for a novice? People have told me nothing but good things about theseso hopefully it works out for you.

I take that as a hint.

Ok I will get a couple later today and post them, probibly tomarrow morning.

As far as the instal goes. it was very simple, and took all of about 25 minutes. 15 of that, figguring out how to take the nurmous air boxes out.

I took pics, but mydigi camsucks (cell ohone).

But if you look at 06 Duragno's pic.. It is the same. Same paint color, same blue filter, and fittings.

Only thing differant is, I have the bottom 3/4th of the air box still in there.

I put an AFE kit in mine. So far I haven't seen much of a gain in MPG because I keep stomping on the gas pedal just to hear that wonderful noise
