*sigh* This is why I usually avoid first year vehicles...
Black 04 Durango Limited headed back to the dealer last week for a number of issues. Report follows (dealer action in bold):
[ul][*] Broken bezel around the gauge cluster - Replaced[*] Driver side seat belt latch rattles incesantly when buckled. Seems like it doesn't fit tightly in the housing, allowing the tang to rattle back and forth. - "They all do that.[*] Driver seat squeaks going over bumps - Re-tied some loose wires under the seat. Jury is out as to whether this fixed the problem.[*](The big issue) Intermittent electrical/electronic bug. Radio randomly goes completely black, no power. Driver's seat randomly loses memory position 1, but retains memory position 2. Dealer reply.... "No problem found.
[/ul]
Sigh. First vehicle I've purchased from this dealer and I've already gotten one "they all do that" and one "no problem found". Gonna be a long 5 years, I think....

It's hard to believe the seat belt would rattle when in use which makes me curious if it's not the female end rattling in the housing itself and not the internals.
It's hard to duplicate some of this stuff, like random electrical problem. With any luck it will become a regular, tracable problem they can find.
Good luck.

I feel your pain. I am new to this site, but I bought a black 04 durango limited and have had the front a/c go out twice since I bought it a month ago. Thats right, 1 MONTH AGO. I took it back this week and the service manager said that dodge knows that there is a problem with the automatic thermostats, and they don't have a solution yet. The service manager told me to turn the vehicle off and then on and the problem should go away. If this happens again, I will turn it off at the dealership and leave it for a lemon law issue. If you find any more details, let me know. matttalaska@yahoo.com
