Shock options for the Durangos?
Hi guys,
I'm looking to buy shocks for the Durango. Some customers complain about how soft are the Durangos, I only did a upgraded to by replacing the front by a Konis adjustable that I found, however these were made for soem other vehicle model and I just had to mod a bit the shock to make it fit in there and was alos like 1.5 inches longer travel wich is good because we raised the Durango a bit.
For the rear I found bilsteins shcosk, again, larger units but were made fro the Ford Ranger , at least the shock code of Bilstein was for that Ranger, it's a bit stiff but once he load the Durango in the back it's aweosme in the trail.
I cannot find thsoe Konis more and the bilsteins for the back are just too stiff for the rest of customers.
Cannot find any other performance shcoks for the durango.
Any tip?
Thanks,
Diego

Really? How do you like them? Are way stiffer than stock ones or just a touch stiffer? Are bit larger (longer travel) than stock ones?
Do you have the part number for the front and rear and the source you got it? I can't find them.
Thanks,
-Diego

I got mine through ajusa.com. Not sure what year you have but if it is a 98-03 2wd are front-33405 rear 34405. for 4wd front-3341 and rear 3441. For 04-06 2wd and 4wd are the same but fronts are 33416 and rears are 34416. I had to type in part # on website to get to it to come up. Or you can call and talk to a rep.
Almost forgot. When you order them choose ground shipping because they have to order them from edelbrock and then when they get them they ship them to you. takes about 3 weeks to get them

There is also Rancho, KYB and Monroe that make specific shocks for the Durango.
I run Rancho's for a year now and love them, much stiffer versus stock, way less rebound.

I sent them a email asking about stock and prices.
Where did you get the Ranchos and how much goes each set? Do you have th epart number for the shocks?
I know Rancho brand and all I hear is not good reputation, I mean they don't last long enough vs other brands, but not sure at all.
Thanks,
