windshield/dash area tapping
going out of my mind here - brand new 07 durango. From about a week after I picked it up, developed this "tapping" sound really sounds like coming from the area where windshield and dash meet in the center area of dash. It's not a squeaky or high pitch rattle but sounds like someone tapping on the windshield or like you were tapping something like a card on a table. Dealer has had it 4 times now, each time claiming they "found it" and fixed it - but only to have it doing it on the ride home.
A few points about it - happens in colder weather only, say in the 50's or colder (when bought car it was 80's). If you let it sit out in the sun by the afternoon it wont do it as much. Doesn't do it at all when it's raining or just finished raining.
Sound like anything familiar to anyone - or any thoughts?
TIA

i had the same problem on my 05 (4.7L) ... does the speed (frequency) of the tapping increase directly with RPMs? if so, check the gasket (or clamp w/e) between the end of the exhaust manifold and the first pipe of the exhaust system (mine had loose bolts on the clamp)
