Dodge tells dealers to stop selling 04 Durango because the throttle is liable to stick in the open postion, resulting in a "crash without warning"http://www.just-auto.com/news_detail.asp?art=43239 it only effects 3.7 and 4.7 liter and not the Hemi

I heard that too... I'm sure they don't have to stop selling them completely, they wouldneed to perform the recall before it's sold. I hope it's a smooth recall. I heard it's only like 4,000 cars, maybe less...

It's 21,000 that have the problem and they think most if not all are still on the lots. The dealers must do the recall by installing a revised throttle cable.

Maybe it was 4,000 that have to be recalled and the rest are on the lot... I know I heard a number like that... but none the less, it'll be fixed and a thing of the past soon. Love that the Hemi wasn't involved... LOL!

Then when i saw how ugly it was with no bed,I said forget it.I don't care what thestats areorwhat amagazine says,I ain't buying no ugly truck! with my new Hemi, I love it. The guys driving the new 04 F-150's are always staring at me. almost about to break their necks.I always smile and think they want my truck. HeHe!

Hey guys, Maybe I can clear this up. We were told the problem is in
cold weather, the throttle sticks. 4.7 v-8s need the new cable assy.
Does not affect hemis.

Its actually the possability of water getting into the cable and possibly freezing in which case may cause slight throttle sticking but i guess any throttle sticking is un-acceptable

its a small amount and it should be fixed smoothly

to ensure this chrysler is shipping the recalls to northern states first from what i hear to ensure customer safty

YEAH YEAH I CANT SPELL

On my first post I stated that that it did not effect the Hemi engine. 21,000 units were effected and most them are on the lots. The dealers will fix the recall while still on thelots. Yes, the throttle should not stick regardless of the condition are the weather. It's still dangerous!

The true reason that dealers have to stop selling the New Durango is that the new design was a rib on the public to see who would be stupid enough to buy one.

I guess the joke is on whomever bought one?
