Since the 3.7/ 4.7,/5.7 are from the same family I would bet you might find it inside the block at the engine end of the lower radiator hose. Thats were the 4.7 T stat sits. There are two small bolts that hold the snout on that cover it. Be careful as these bolts have been known to snap very easy making a realatively easy repair a big PIA.
I would verify the location, then hit them with some PB Blaster or WD-40 and let em soak awhile before wrenching.
