Iknow at some autozones they have a display for energizer batteries that has an RF detector. Thats the frequency that your key puts out. If new batteries were installed and it doesn't detect it then you will end up needing new keys.

There is a fuse (don't know which one) that you can pull to reset the computer that controls the locks. If this does not work, you willl probably have to spend the $60.

Check to see if the spring clip that holds the battery in is still soldered to the circiut boad. These clips have a tendency to break off the pc board........

If both keys fail at a time, this does not look like a battery issue.

I was a victim of the bad solder joint on the fob's battery hold down clip. Actually it was my wife's key that went bad. She swapped her key with mine and didn't tell me. I drove the car all day with the bad key and it was a real pain. Every time I unlocked the car manually with the key the car alarm horn started beeping, attracting all kinds of unwanted attention.

Anyway, it is an easy fix. Just pull out the printed circuit board and resolder the joint.
