keys
both of my key fobs don't work. i've changed the batteries. still ulnock-lock-panic= nothing. i have to unlock the doors manually. what do i do next. it'll cost 60 bucks just to have the dealer look at it. hope someone has some advice thanks
Iknow at some autozones they have a display for energizer batteries that has an RF detector. Thats the frequency that your key puts out. If new batteries were installed and it doesn't detect it then you will end up needing new keys.
I was a victim of the bad solder joint on the fob's battery hold down clip. Actually it was my wife's key that went bad. She swapped her key with mine and didn't tell me. I drove the car all day with the bad key and it was a real pain. Every time I unlocked the car manually with the key the car alarm horn started beeping, attracting all kinds of unwanted attention.
Anyway, it is an easy fix. Just pull out the printed circuit board and resolder the joint.
