Factory options in 06 Durango
Here's the story... I bought a 2006 Dodge Durango last year and everything was fine on it until a few months later when the radio started to act up. I brought it into the dealer and they swapped it for another one, but before I even left the dealership I noticed that I couldn't put CD's in the stupid thing. So, they came and looked at it and told me to come in again to get it swapped out for yet another radio. Later on, I buy an mp3 player and go to my Durango to look for the auxiliary jack and low and behold... I don't have one! I'm sure we bought the vehicle with an auxiliary jack, so when I went to the dealer and told them I had one and they need to replace it, they say that my car didn't come with one. After a long week of calling back and forth between Dodge/Chryser/Jeep and the Dodge dealership that I went to, I find out that they are now in agreement: my Durango didn't come with an auxiliary jack. I find that hard to believe especially when I looked on ebay and saw a bunch of 06 Dodge Durangos that had an auxiliary jack (under the volume control) on the radio. I looked at the 05 models and they didn't have an auxiliary jack NOT ONE! Both the Dodge dealership and the company told me that if the radio was switched after the vehicle left the factory they can't do anything about it, but how come every 06 Durango that I looked at had one? BTW, my Durango is an SLT Hemi... would it be usual for an SLT HEMI to not have this seemingly standard option??

What is the build date of your D?? Look at the sticker on the side of the driver's door. If your D is an early 06, ie, built late in 05 it is possible that the Aux jack was added later in the model year.
If you bought it brand new and you can prove that the jack was there, I say they owe you a radio with a jack. If this is not the case, I suggest finding a nice used oem unit with a jack, and swap it in.
I did a similar thing when I wanted to have the RDS option in the radio on my 01. I ended up finding a unit from an 05 Sebring. I did have to buy an adapter harness, but beyond that it was plug and play.
In your case, I bet you could just plug it in and go.
