Default Aftermarket DVD System solutions

Hi Guys,

Me and the wife just purchased a 04 Durango SLT w/hemi, it came loaded but no DVD system . I've been researching around for a good roof top mount DVD system, which i found a few. I've called a couple of Car Audio/Video installation companies around town looking for pricing,etc... One of these techs told me thatI shouldn't go with a top roof mount dvd system if I have a sunroof (which I do have one). Instead i should getheadrest mounteddvd screen and maybe put a smaller top roof mount dvd for the 3rd seat. This guy must think i'm loaded or something!!! Anyways i'm not sure what is the best layout for my Durango for a good but not costly DVD system that would accomadate 4 kids ages 6-16. And I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions or if someone already has a good Entertainment layout that they can share with me. Thank you.

we just got a new roof mount top put in from circuit city. It's the 12.1" jenson. Picture looks great and you can see it from both rows of seats easily. They just had it on sale with free instalation. It came to $850 out the door and it also has two wireless headsets with it. you can see it on there website.

I don't know why the tech would say that?? I have an '04 Limited with sunroof and DVD system, and it seems to work fine

What I'm hearing is that I would need a special bracket for support between the liner and the roof. Still looking around...

circuit city actually puts the extra support in the roof when they mount the dvd player. It is rock solid and the picture is awesome....best i've seen. No, we do not have a sun roof but he did tell me it will go in with a sun roof. I told him we may get a sunroof added and he said it was not a problem. My friend has the factory dvd player and it comes no where near this one...he is quite jealous! lol. One more thing, if you do get it installed, make sure you get the option of having it hardwired into the stereo. It eliminates any dropping of the signal or static. We really do love ours!
