Default Digital Climate Control

Does anyone know if a 2006-2007 Digital Climate Control fit into a 2004 Durango?

I have the standard control and would like to change it to the Digital.

One other question, is the wiring harness present for an factory overhead dvd player? I found one, and really want it for the kids. I am sure I could run the wires, but just curious if they are already there.

Thanks in advance.

BT:

There have been a few other folks who looked into this, and IIRC the consensus was that making the switch would be complicated and quite expensive.

Re the wiring harness for the DVD unit, the only way to really know is to take a look. I have found that in some cases if you have a higher line model, the harness may be there whereas tha lower line vehicles will not have them to cut costs.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread.. I also have a 2004 Durango and it has the digital climate controls but it doesn't work. I have found a couple on ebay for '06 , '07, '08 and '09 models. Will the newer climate controls work on our 2004 Durango? Thank you in advance!

They should work, but it was not an option in the Durango (2007). Probaly would not be cheap or easy to install as you would need a wiring harness. Check out the link:

Thanks for the reply. I called the dealer and they said the part is specific per year??? If that was the case then I shouldn't be finding the units online that fit multiple year vehicles. I think they wanted the $414 for a brand new one and a working $75 used one is fine for me. I may just purchased one off ebay and if it fits ... great if it doesn't then I can resell it back on ebay. I'll post the results of the outcome when I get one. Thanks again.
