Key Sets Off Alarm When Opening Door
Hello,
I bought a used 2004 Dodge Durango a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, they only had one key for the vehicle. It's the type with the integrated remote. I usually use the remote, but for some reason today I just instinctively opened the drivers door with the actual key. It set off the alarm. I tried a couple times and it did each time. Is this normal or am I missing something?
I'm going to buy some more keys - of course the dealer is super expensive, anyone got any places to look besides eBay? (Watching a few items there already)
Thanks,
Will

Yes the system is alarmed when you lock the vehicle using the remote,i found this out doing exactly as you did, also hit the panic button by mistake one time so it is normal.
Normal. Mine does it all the time because the fob are POS. I have had to have my battery contacts soldered back on twice so that I could get the damn thing to lock/unlock the care.
