Default Keyless entry quit working

I have an 04 Durango 5.7L that I just bought about a week ago. I was cleaning up the engine bay area and did some modifications to my airbox. I disconnected the battery during this work. I reconnected it and evrything was fine except both of my keyless entry remotes do not work. Both were working earlier this day and after disconnecting the battery both mystiriously quit working any ideas........

My battery went dead and I replaced it. I tried reprogramming my keyless remotes and couldnt. I brought to dealership and they said I had 'lost' my program and they would have to reprogram it. Charged me 30.00. Said it took them 45 minutes to do.

They take less than 5 minutes to reprogram.

What is the trick to program. Don't you put the key in the ON position and hit the unlock button like three times? I don't remember, maybe you can help with that P/S.

They may have a 1/2 hour minimum labor charge.
I asked the service manager where I used to work and they said you need two working keys to program a 3rd key.

Guess I should check the dates on these things. Looks like I'm about two years late.

There's a difference between programming the remote and programming a key.

The dealer doesn't need two keys to program, but for other people, such as the vehicle owner, two keys are needed.
