I recently tried this product called Back to Black that I found at Autozone. I used it on the black faded trim on my 98 jeep. I was amazed with the results. They were really faded and they turned right back to black after two coats. It wasn't like it was new but it was way better than before. It's worth a try for the money ($5-6 dollars).

Red face 07 Durango Rear Bumper Pad

Thanks,I will look into that... The rear step is black, but the running boards are a grey color. I had asked the service manager if Dodge had some type of cleaner, for this. But he did not know of anything. If they are still causing problems, it would seam like a shame to go through this in a another year. As many problems people seam to be having, I wonder if the Durango was a good choice. Another friend of my wifes had an 05, but traded it when the engine started knocking..

I wouldn't throw the baby out with the bath water. To question the D over a bumper pad is excessive IMHO. It's got a TSB, get it replaced and move on. Keep it properly waxed and protected and it won't happen again.

Back to black is good stuff. However it covers up some wax and weather haze instead of removing it. There are many color-back type of agents. They work at various levels. The D has a problem with the UV stability from the outsourced provider of those plastics. They discolor and turn white. No color back, wax remover, etc is going to help with that on a long term basis.

The Durango will prove to be very reliable. If you take care of it, it will take care of you.

Yep, I am a Durango fan.

I have a 2007 Durango Hemi, and yes I am experiencing the same, especialy the rear bumper pad. when I wash the vehicle it goes back to normal, once I dry it it starts to look whitish.
I was told to use Vaseline pertroluem gelly, it actually rejuvinates the original color. At first it will look brand new and will accumaulte some dust, but after washing again it settles down and keeps the color on the black side.
