Default Durango hybrid

"A Dodge Durango Hybrid will be released in 2009. It features the 340 hp (254 kW) 5.7 L (≈348 cu in) Hemi engine with MDS as well as the new Two-Mode Hybrid system developed with General Motors and BMW. Reports indicate a 25% gain in highway fuel economy and a 40% gain in the city. EPA testing on the Hybrid Durango with the Hemi V8 engine indicates fuel mileage to be about 20 miles per US gallon (8.5 km/l/24 mpg-imp) (city) and 22 miles per US gallon (9.4 km/l/26 mpg-imp) (highway) for 2009 model. The normal (non-hybrid) Durango with the 5.7L Hemi goes 13 miles per US-imp) (city) and 18 miles per US gallon (7.7 km/l/22 mpg-imp) (highway). gallon (5.5 km/l/16 mpg


This is the second time that Dodge has announced a hybrid Durango. They made the first claim in 2000, for a slated release date of 2003, but it was never produced.


Chrysler announced that the 2009 Dodge Durango Hybrid would have a starting MSRP of $45,340."
