Question 265 65R17 vs. 265 70R17 who can help?

I have a 2005 Dodge Durango SLT AWD 5.7L, it has the stock 265 65r17 tires that will need replacement soon. Will I have any problems moving up to a 265 70r17 tire? The difference in diameter is just over an inch. Will this throw the speedo off much?

Thanks for the link, looks like it will throw the speedo off about 2 mph, not a big deal. I still would like to know if anyone has tried the 26570r17 on their Durango. Looks like their is pleny of room on the rear for bigger tires but not sure about the front clearance. The reasons I would go with the 26570r17 is that there are alot more choices of tires available and there are less expensive options in this size.

26570r17 Michelin Latitude X-ice work fine on my D2004 Limited 4.7. Plenty of room for rear and front wheels. Smooth ride, good in snow. Compared the speedometer to GPS, and the difference, if exists, is negligible.

I have the 2005 SLT 5.7L 4WD Durango and I have had the 265/70/17's from BFG, for 3-4 years now. They do pretty well sometimes (very rarely!) I'll catch a sound of side wall on a sharp turn or in 4WD it'll get cranky on me.

Makes you an inch taller, but speed runs the same according to my gps.

Hope this helps.

Carleton:
My 04 D also came with the 265 series tires. There was also a 245/70/17 size option that seemed to be standard on the lower line Durangos. This size is equivalent to the 265 size, and also has quite a few more options than the 265 tire.
I came across a great deal on 5 takeoff Firestone Transforce AT tires in the 245 size, and thats what my D is wearing!
