Not sure if this is in the proper section but....

I hope someone can offer some more information on a trouble code I got today on the durango. ('06 Durango SLT, Stock) And of course, just out of warranty with 41K on the OD.

Dropping the kids off at school the little engine icon lit up... went home and scanned, the code was P0984. Upon looking it up the description is: "Shift Solenoid "E" Control Circuit Range/Performance".

1) Can someone please translate that into english.
2) Does this mean I'm going to have to take the tranny out? (I hope the answer is no, I am in the middle of fixing the tranny on my other car, which is a PITA BTW.).

Could be nothing.

Have Autozone scan it, clear the code and let you know what their system translates it into.
