Default Towing capabilities

Hey guys. I hope you don't mind if I invade the Durnago side of the forum for a moment, but I need to ask a question for my dad. He owns an 05 Durango with the 318 and auto transmission and was wondering how heavy of a camper trailer he can tow with this truck. It's also to be noted that he lives in the hills of Pennsylvania, so that will affect how much this truck can tow due to that pesky gravity.

Please and thankyou, all.

5800-5900 is the max weight IIRC. I would keep it in the 4500 range related to the hills in PA.

If you need some more details, here is a guide for the 2006s. Should be an exact match to his 2005.

http://www.trailerboats.com/images/e...6045_tow06.pdf

The Durangos are listed on the 4th page down, labeled as page 58. Looks like he has a bit more pulling power than I gave him credit for. Depending on his specifics, the truck is rated for 5700 - 7400 Lbs however I would undercut that to know for sure he wouldn't have any issues.

Your welcome and happy to help!
