issues recurring after fixed
Hello everyone, I am new to the forum. Just joined. I've enjoyed reading the posts and have learned a bit so far. I have been having some issues with my 05 Durango. I bought it last year and it has been great up until I brought it in for servicing. I read about an issue with stalling, this happens sometimes while stopped or turning very slowly. The main issue I'm having is with the rack & pinion I had fixed. Ever since then I've had a lot of front end issues. They keep insisting the car is fine, but obviously not. Has this ever happened before? My airbag seemed to have been messed up in the process of getting this all fixed as well.

Hi IndyD,
Thank you for the reply. Yes I have had it repaired at the same dealer. The advisor I deal with seems to be aggrivated when I call and doesn't return my calls. I brought up the fact that I felt they were taking advantage of the fact that my car was under warranty. The noises sound exactly the same in the front end when I turn both ways (clicking) which was originally the rack and pinion when I brought it in. They went on to say that there are so many parts in the front end it could be anything. Understandable, but I don't agree. It's a little weird that all this started happening after the first initial repair in the front end. Any thoughts?
I will take your advise about the 3 times taking it to the state attorney.

I understand there are many front end parts... but that is THEIR problem not yours. If they are not qualified to complete the repair correctly, have THEM take it elsewhere to have it corrected. I would not go elsewhere myself at this point and have to start all over. I think you have more leverage by remaining there and forcing their hand at getting the repair completed correctly.
You can also offer them the opportunity to buy the vehicle back from you if their incompetence prevents them from fixing it.
In the end, threat first with going to the BBB (Better Business Bureau), the State Attorney General's Office and Chrysler Customer Support Line. Don't just do it without giving them the option to get it done one last time. Leave the vehicle with them and double check it before picking it up and signing for it at the next fix. If they give you problems or still don't get it fixed, LEAVE it with them and file the complaints with all of the parties. My bet is they will send it off to be fixed if they can't do it themselves verses letting you trash them (as you are entitled to do... their loss! You can't help it that they suck)
Good luck!

Thank you for the insight! I will take it back to them. Honestly i would have thought if a dealer/shop is having problems fixing a vehicle they'd just push back instead of trying to repair it again.
Even if I check it before signing, the thing is when I picked it up last time it drove perfect for a few days and then the same noise came back! I will also review all the print outs of the previous repairs the next time I take it to make sure the repairs are for the same thing.
Obviously I'm at a disadvantage to begin with because I have no clue what all these little parts are and what they do... I would love to learn..
Thanks again!
