Default Illuminated Entry

I have a 2006 Dodge Durango issued to me for my job, a police officer. My Durango was set up the way I liked, such as no entry lighting came on when I unlocked or opened the doors. But due to the instrument cluster had to be replaced, the Durango was set to factory setting again and now the illuminated entry is on and the dealership does not know how to turn it off. Can anyone help? Thank you

There is a roof console on mine that displays the temperature and a compass. There are buttons that can change your settings. Press the far left one once and go to vehicle settings and from htere you can change 'wipers with lights' and 'lock doors oce in drive' amoung many other parameters,

It sounds like you have a better version of the Durango than my city. I have the basic model, I do not have a roof console or anything that displays the settings or temperature. I have a keyless entry and I know with the keyless remote I am able so change some settings but the illuminated entry escapes me still.

Nothing in the manual about changing settings? I can look at mine tomorrow and see if there is something in there besides the overhead console functions,

The only thing in the manual is stating that a dealer can activate the illuminated entry. But the dealer here, can not figure out how to deactivate it.

Funny thing. I have remote opener for the hatch and the dealer told me I did not until I pressed the key fob icon......'well, maybe it does have an electric opener' was his response. I will look into this and get back to you since the dealer is inept,

Alright, on page 131-132 in my manual states:

'When a door is open and the interior lights are on, rotating the dimmer control all the way down to the OFF detent (position) will cause all the interior lights to go out.'

Hope this helps and keep safe out there,

When I do that, the instrument cluster will also turn off so I will not have a lit cluster. Thanks for your help though.

Since, the "dealership" could not figure out the way to deactivate the illuminated entry, I adapted and over come. I removed all the bulbs from the interior lighting that associated with the illuminated entry. I already had an after market light installed in the driver's area that I could use if I need lighting. Sad... that the dealership could not do what they are supposed to do. At least my Chevy truck has an dome light override button. Anyways, it is a solution, maybe not the one I really wanted. Thanks for the help.
