Default Looking to buy a 2nd gen Durango. Question?

I noticed a few are coming up for sale. A little more than some of the other models. I am looking at a 2004-2006. I know some leases are up. But, it's a littlemore than average for sale. Are there issues with is truck I am not aware of and people are unloading them?

Thanks

I would look at the 5.7L (Hemi) or atleast a V8 as it is larger than the first generation and a six will be bogged down. Also, the AWD is great in snow if you live in the north,

The hemi is the route I will take. You can't beat 345hp. But, I am worried why I am seeing a few for sale now? Are there any known issues?

Not that it's a factor. More curious, what MPG are you seeing?

They stopped making them after 2008 or 2009 model year as they closed the plant in Delaware that manufatured them. THe next model will be most likely a crossover style vehicle with a unibody construction. I had mine for 2-1/2 years without a single problem:

I know Crystler has it issues right now. Thanks for the information! I also like the Toyota Sequoia as well.

I bought a former Nextel lease '05 Durango last November when gas was $4/gal, and I am very pleased. Back then, SUV's were a dead market. I average 15 mpg and the open road has been 17.5 mpg. It has a hemi, selectable AWD/4WD/4WL/neutural, 3.92 rearend, tow package. I have had a Grand Caravan AWD, Cherokee, and Grand Cherokee; all from the '90's. This Durango is better than them and drives quite, smooth, handles great, and solid. It is slightly smaller than a Suburban, which is nice for parking lots. The 5 speed trany is exceptionally smooth. I don't have a 3rd seat and that works for me.

I just bought a 2004 Limited with the HEMI ... I have to agree the Engine and the Tranny are smooth as can be .. Mine has 3.55 gears and it has a ton of power ...
Are 3.55 standard gears for the limited ? It has a facotry tow package also ... but in the glove box it states 3.55... just curious

If you drive on the highway to commute to work it has a MDS system. Ths system shuts down four of the eight cylinders while crusing. I also use my cruise control on the turnpike on my way to and from work and that will save gas,
