My 2005 dodge durango wont start and is making this clicking noise. I took the battery out and have it tested and tested 12.7, checked the wiring and it look good. I also disconect the starter and tested it too and its working just fine. I guess my next step will be to check the ignition switch? after I figure out where is located .... Please I need some guidance in how to trouble shoot this issue since I dont know what Im doing....

I will appreciate your help and thanks in advance!

GOT IT!!!!!! It was the battery all along.... I went and replace the starter because when I checked the battery it had 12.7 volts, I thought that would be enough to crank the vehicle and got me the new starter thinking that it could be the solenoid, but i guess I was wrong. After putting the new starter the truck kept doing the same thing, so I got mad and went to buy a new battery...... the freaking thing fired up like a champ!!!! dang I think I wasted 86.99 on a starter......

I really appreciate your input and fast response!! We the mechanic-wannabes need people like you guys arround!!!

The store should allow a return of the starter,
