Need help with buying a Durango
Well, wanted to thank eveyone for your help.
We didn't buy a Durango because finding one equiped with the things we wanted was kinda like finding a needle in a haystack, escpecially with the kind of miles we wanted it to have. We did end up buying a Chrysler Aspen though. It is fully loaded (DVD, 30gb touch screen multimedia center with GPS nav, Sirius, heated leather seats, memory seats, backup camera, sunrrof, power everything, etc...). Plus it has the 5.7L Hemi. It has a little over 20k miles on the odometer, and we got it for less then the plain jane Honda Pilot LX we almost bought instead. Here's a few pics the dealer sent me before we bought it.
And for those interested, I had to drive 10 hours to get it (and trade in the wife's Jeep Liberty). Through the moutains of Colorado and Utah, it got 19 mpg. On the open flat interstate, I was getting 23mpg. That is exactly the kind of gas mileage we where hoping for.
Thanks again everyone.

Silver, that is one great looking Aspen. I have only seen a few on the road, but never inside of one. It looks to be a trim level up from the Durango Limited with different wheels, grille, flat tail lights, and suede inserts in the seats. Is that the navigation system in the last picture?

Ya, apparently it was supposed to compete with the higher end SUV's, like Escalade and the Yukon. It is a little nicer inside then the limited Durango, but not by much.
Ya, that's the nav/radio/multimedia screen in the last pic. It is on the radio in that pic.

Essentially it is a Gen2 Durango. They are built one after the other on the same line, same folks, same parts plus a few extras and a different sheet metal panel here or there. They are just more refined. Mechanically, 100% Durango. Most think it should have been the D Gen 2.5 whereas bringing back the Aspen name wasn't successful. It is a very nice SUV. Congrats.
