Location of the oil pressure sensor - 04 5.7
[QUOTE=n8ech;2765074]You do not have to drain anything.
As long as engine is not running, no oil will come out. It is high enough up in the system that without pressure from the pump nothing stays up there.

i had bought a 2004 hemi Durango last year with 250,000km. Ran great for a few months then started running terrible. Check engine light came on and had it scanned, had multiple misfires on different cylinders. I replaced the o2 sensors ,replaced crank position sensor and airflow sensor. Still ran terrible especially on startup. I had noticed an oil leak coming from around the oil filter so I replaced oil the filter and still had a leak somewhere. Finally found the culprit of all my issues from the start, it was the oil pressure sensor leaking and It was causing misfires and surges. Bought the sensor for $25 Canadian put in about 10min. Runs better than it ever has now, so if someone has a similar problem replace that sensor immediately. There was also no oil light present before I replaced it, there is a light in the dash but it wasn’t on ever, so I had no way of telling the sensor was bad
