Default Aftermarket Radio question, what is needed???

I have an 04 durango with the stock system without the infinity system. And I want to change my reciever to an aftermarket reciever.

So I just got the dash kit and antanna adapter. And now crutchfield is telling me that i need this Metra XSVI-6502 Chrysler Interface connector http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120SVI6...Interface.html

Now I have access to the wiring diagrams for this vehicle. Is there a way to save myself $70 and just using the audio wiring diagram and connect all wires according to the aftermarket radio harness. Just like if i was installing it in any other vehicle???

Or is there a cheaper harness for this???

Thanks for all the help.

Here is a thread on the same subject. I bought a kit off ebay that included the wiring harness, dash mount, and antenna adapter. If you are looking to save a buck this is how. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...et-stereo.html
