Default 04 5.7L 130k miles, won´t start, fuel pump?

(Sorry 130K miles)
Hi! there, i was scared when comming back from the groceries my durango did not start, it was like start and imediatly shutted off, i tried start and gas pedal...the same;

after a few mins of trying and panicking, it started, that was last week, never happened again (since)...

Should i replace the fuel pump, are they likely to fail?..

Will apreciate any comment regarding this..

With the car off, turn the ignition to the first (accessories) position. You should hear a mechanical 'humming' and that will be your fuel pump turning on. I would test the battery and then the alternator,

A tune-up with new plugs and cleaning the throttle body may help,

OZ:

Many times when a fuel pump fails, the car will not run at all. There are also times when it will start and run, but not very well.

If yours seems to be working ok now, your fuel pump is probably fine. I would however get your battery load tested, and if it is the original one or newer but tests flaky in the least bit replace it.

As mentioned, if your plugs have more than 50,000 miles on them new plugs won't hurt things either.
