My right brake light won't work. When the lights are put in the on position, the bulb will light, but not intensify when the brake is on. The left brake light is fine. I replaced the bulb, and checked the 10amp fuses under the hood. When I pulled the old bulb, one contact was charred and melted into the plastic. I looked into the socket, and cleaned some black residue off. Still does not work. Before I get a 50 electric diagnostic test....what else can i look at. I am going outside to check the brake switch, don't know if I can sight inspect it...but I will see if anything looks loose or out of place. suggestions?

 

A novice look:
Break switch is depressing appropriately...no obvious problems with wires leading to break switch.

 

07... isn't it still under warranty?

 

My 2007 warranty expired in March, so there yours could still be valid,
