Default 2006 durango 4.7 5w20?

Manual and oil cap show 5w30 but wondering if this engine uses 5w20 now? Specially with winter coming in a few months.
What are you 2006 4.7 owners using ( non hemi)

The Hemi uses 5w-20. I would use what the cap or manual recommends,

5w30, the manual is god on this topic, if the manual says 5w30 then use 5w30 end of discussion(clearly i didnt read everything before making my last post)

bottom line on any and all fluids use ones that meet the spec listed in the owners manual

It would not hurt to run the 20w oil if you want. The 20w oil is pretty much an MPG item *except* in the case of the 06 and newer MDS equipped Hemi.

I run 5w30 in my 04 non MDS Hemi. the 20w is just a little thinner oil, and appeared on the auto scene in 2001 when Ford began using it as far as I know.

Since then, Honda, Dodge/Chrysler, and others have followed.
