Default Another Torsion Bar adjustment question

Wheather I buy a leveling kit or use OEM and tighten the bolts, what are the advantages of the leveling kit other than a bit more lift?
Im not clean about the aftermarket leveling kit that helps keep your suspention as is was stock. And when you use the existing OEM (twisting stock bolts).
It seems that it would be the same whether using the the replacements aftermarket leveling kits or the existing (factory) Keys and save a couple $$$.

This is how torsion bars work link

When you do the OEM lift, you are lifting the car and twisting the torsion bar. The tension left on the bar makes the ride stiffer. The lift kits relocate the shock absorbers and the torsion bar keys are indexed different so that the bar is not twisted with the height gain, therefore the suspension is as soft/hard as it was before.

not quite

Torsion keys are indexed differently so that they twist the bar more, therefore the ride will be just as hard as if you twist the factory bolts. The shock relocation is the only benefit of the keys unless you want some extra adjustment. On my D i can get 3" of front lift before my bolts bottom-out.
