Default 2006 Durango - power loss/engine light on

I was sitting at a red light and when it turned green for me to start my turn, my Durango only crawled like it had very little power. Once I got rolling, however, it seemed to pick up more power along the way. The engine light is on too. After driving it like this for about 15 minutes I found that while the light has stayed on, the power seems to be somewhat back to normal for now but I expect it will happen again. Has anybody experienced this same thing and if so, what needed to be looked at and fixed? It's not the hemi engine...I think it is a 4.7L. Thanks for any suggestions.

Take it by AutoZone and have them read the code and then you'll know where to start looking. At this point there could be a lot of different things causing it.

You can pull the codes by turning the car from off to on (not run) three times and on the third time the odometer will flash a 'P---' (three numbers) or 'done'

+3. We need the codes to be able to tell you anything.
