Default New used 2007 Durango SLT

Hello my name is Kris, and I am an active member of other truck forums, and have only had GM trucks, right now I drive a 03 GMC Serria, and my wife drives a 07 Trailblazer, the TB is leased, and due in the next few days, however we have come across a nice 07 Durango, 42k on it SLT package, 3rd row seat, 4.7l V8, just looking for a little member knowledge on these trucks. I noticed a tad of rust on the rear passenger side door, inside it..

towards the bottom(this is not the car I am looking at)..the dealer will fix it...is this a common problem with the Durangos....anything else I should really look at with this truck?

This is the truck..

Thanks for any help..

Z71. I have owned a 2004 4.7 and have a 2008 4.7. I feel the 4.7 is a good motor and doesnt have a few problems the Hemi's do. known problems would be the Gas tank spraying gas back at you when filling. Going to have to fill it to find out. Rotors seem to warp but aftermarket ones are fine. Other than that the rust on a 2007 is very odd. Durango's body/paint is good. Dealer give you a 30 day warranty? any optional extended? AAA sells a good one, I have the Chrysler bumper to bumper to 100k $2400 from dealer. You can save $400 buy going direct to Chrysler. Just this week I heard AAA had 100k and I mean 100k ontop of what is on the odometer for about the same.
Good luck.

I think it has the 30 day warranty, and I am looking to add a extended, that is interesting news about the AAA warranty thing, I will have to call and check into that as well...yeah have been doing some research and not really found anything negative with the 2007s...

What radio does it have. I have heard that the Navigations units have a joystick button that breaks easy. Check the tranni cooler lines near the radiator for leaks on the connecters. The seat plastic trim likes to crack near the screw holes. The seat belt plastic trim pieces on the seat side plastic break easilly. Look for any warning lights. OH the shocks most likely are near the end of their life.

4wd or AWD?

its listed as 4x4, but its 4wd auto like, and then 4wd locked..really about the shocks, 42k...huh...I have read about most of the other plastic trim pieces breaking..seems hit or miss...
