Default Normal position for temp gauge for '05 D when running

My '05 D temp gauge remains one slash under middle...even after driving it for 10 min or so early in the morning. Is that normal?

I bought it used and now has 104k km and I see a receipt from the previous owner for a 195 deg thermo.

Am I worried over nothing or should it get checked out?

Thanks in advance.

I am not sure if you have the 5.7 liter Hemi, but mine never goes above 1/4 (from the bottom) with a 180 degree thermostat. I would change the coolant every two years and you should be alright,

I do have the hemi and I thought that was little high. I will change the coolant and then progress from there (if needed). Thank you.

HHRY:

A needles width or two under half scale is the norm. My 01 was that way, my 04 is that way, and the 05 we have at work is that way also.

As far as your coolant goes, the factory fill is good for 5 years OR 100k miles. As long as you use the same coolant, an equivalent, you can keep the same interval.

FF:

Chrysler phased in the red coolant for most of their vehicles by 2003. The red coolant is good for 100k or 5 years. My 04 has it and so does our 05 Grand Caravan.
