Automatic Headlight Mod in 08 Durango
I just bought a 2008 Durango SLT (haven't even had it a week yet) and so far I love the vehicle. With some minor tweaks to it I will be completely happy!
I came from a 2007 Dodge Magnum SXT and when I first got the car I soon realized that it did NOT have Automatic Headlights. Coming from 2 Chevy Vehicles prior to that it had become something I got used to having. I hopped online to see if there was any way I could add the feature to the car and ran across a quick MOD that involved pulling off the headlight control ****, clipping a piece of the plastic away allowing me to turn the switch to the far left position which would allow me to just have the lights turn on and off with the vehicle all the time and not have to worry about doing it myself. I was happy with that.
Now I got my Durango and noticed that it didn't have automatic lights either. I was thinking that I would be able to perform the same quick Mod to the **** that I did to my Magnum but the set-up is slightly different and doesn't allow for that. So I'm wondering is there any other way to perform this mod in my Durango? If I buy a light switch that was made for the trucks with Auto-Lights would it do the trick and how simple would the installation of the switch be? I've been searching the forums and google and haven't found anything. If I could get this MOD done I'd be a happy camper and completely in love with my Durango!

No advice/solutions at all? I'm wondering if I just buy a headlight switch with the "A" position for automatic lights would it work the same as the mod did in my magnum. If someone can confirm that for me I'll buy one online tonight!
starnage i have 2008 slt hemi & its auto lights
installing auto lights are bit lengthy & without proper tech assistance you might not able to do. its not just switch. its light sensor + switch + wiring harness + relay + chip which control the light sens level...
even if you have all this you must know the wiring diagram for this.
the best way could be find complete set from yard for an accedient vehicle & it will be mush easier to install

In other words, when the car is running (whether its day or night) the lights will be on & when its not the lights turn off. EWill just buying the switch that's made for AutoLight equipped trucks allow for this like it did in my magnum?
Also, while tinkering around w/ the **** I found that if you turn the **** to the far right (the 3 o'clock position) it does what I want it to do BUT I lose the ability to turn on my fog lights jst but pressing the **** in.
Wow... Sarcasm & No solution!! Must be my official welcome to the forum... Thanx...
