EL:

What engine does your D have? Could be in need of a set of plugs, or could be an EGR issue?

The owner's manual calls for plugs to be changed every 30K. if you do not idle a bunch, you can push that another 10-20K if you want. If they are original at 75K, time for new ones.

Idle speed is set by the computer, so as far as I know you cannot change it unless you have the appropriate computer to do so.

Its better to treat the cause than the symptom IMO.

Don't mess with idle adjustments. Find the culprit. How is the battery? Plugs and wire age?

Make sure there are no codes, replace the plugs just to rule them out and put a can of sea foam in it.

4.7 or Hemi? If 4.7, there are no wires. If Hemi, its not fun to change the plugs, but is doable. If Hemi, this may help, although its for the Rams, so it may not be exactly like the Durangos.

As Don asked in his post, please let us know which engine you have. This will help us with helping you.

Since he commented that my link was very similar to his setup, I am assuming he has the Hemi, but it'd be nice if he could verify this... (hint, hint).
