You may also need a new TPS or IAC, if the cleaning doesn't help.

TPS is relatively cheap at any auto parts store. One at O'Reillys comes with a Lifetime Warranty, thats where I got my wife's. Works great. The TPS is infamous for only lasting 75k-ish on the 4.7s and older 5.2/5.9 V8s.

The IAC is usually not as temperamental, but would be what I'd check next if cleaning and a new TPS doesn't solve it.

Thats what I was thinking could be the problem, trying to gather a bunch of possibilities before I start working on fixing it, so I can just keep at it till its good to go. Any other thoughts?

I'm embarrassed to ask but I'm new to forums and don't have the slightest idea how to post a question. Can you provide any guidance. Thank You

GAry, go to the 'forum jump' pull down window in the lower right of the screen. Click on it and scroll to the section or subsection that you want to post in. Once in that section there will be a 'new thread' button on the top left of the screen below the black menu bar. You can click on ,User CP" in the top black menu bar to see the threads that you started or responded,

Was having the same problem with my 04 4.7L. Changed out the TPS and it quit almost immediatley. Also had a fuel sys clean done at the dealership, which took care of the throttle body cleaning as well.
