Default Tow hooks 2006

So I traded my 4.7 2004 durango for the 2006 5.7. Couldn't be happier...... except they were going to take the tow hooks of the 2004 and put on the 2006. Guess what......... welded on. My dealer now tells me they can't get me the hooks they no longer make them? Any ideas? I love the information from everyone on this site.

Thanks as always

Check DodgeParts.com. They were available on there last time I checked.

FYI, Same hooks for ALL Durangos so check multiple years... even Gen1s

I have to wonder if the real story is that when they found out the swap was not going to be 15 minute job, they told you they were welded to get out of the process.

IIRC, the manual calls for the front bumper cover to come off to make installation or removal much easier.

I be they did not want to go thru all that X2.

Yea they are a bolt on item. You can find them around. Check EBay.

I considered adding them to my 01 D when I had it. At that time, they were selling for ~$80 each.

I think they are closer to $90 each now.

I believe the dealer gets .3 hour to install them WITH the front bumper cover
removed.

On the other hand then, maybe the installer decided he could make a short cut and weld them on instead of removing the bumper cover.

They might not be making them any more, but surely some outlet or dealer somewhere has a set gathering dust on a shelf somewhere.
