Default Durango not starting on first try

I have on 04 SLT Hemi and when it sits for 4 hours or more it won't start on the first try. I have to crank on it for about five seconds, the engine turns over, revs up and then dies. When I go to restart it, it starts immediately and runs fine. I'm just wondering if the fuel system is allowing fuel to back away from the injectors and it has to crank and build pressure back.

Just wondering if anybody else has had this issue or heard of it. I'm going to call the dealership and have them look it over also.

I had a similar problem with my 04 Hemi. One morning it started and then just died. It did that about 5 times and then completely quit. I had the dealer tow it and to my surprise it was the battery. I haven't had any problem since.

What is the mileage on it now? Have you ever run BG 44k through the fuel system or had a professional injector cleaning done? Sounds a little like leaky injectors may be flooding the engine a bit. If it happens again, put the gas pedal to the floor for about 5 seconds without cranking it, then let off the pedal and crank it. If it starts right up it is probably flooding. Holding the pedal down like that will let the gas vapor seep out into the intake a bit.

it only has about 12,300. I don't think its flooding. What I have been doing lately is to turn the key onto the "run" position for about 5 seconds and it starts fine. I think it a loss of fuel pressure in the fuel system. Just need to find the time to take it to a dealer to fix it.
