Default change the axle fluid on a 05 Durango 4x4

Hi,

Its thomas from germany,

I want to change all the fluids on my durango 05 4x4 5.7HEMI.

I have now 65.000miles on it.
So i think its time for a fluid change.

I want to change this:

front axle
rear axle
transfer chase fluid
automatic transmission fluid

How many fluid do i need?
Can i use the original mopar fluid, or is there any better fluid on the market?

Do i need any limitet slip for the rear axle?
The owners manual says only 75w-140 for rear axle and front axle 75w-90

thanks for your help

regards thomas

I would be interested in this too. When I do it, I think I'm going to document it with pictures and the steps I did, then submit it for others.

Use ATF + 4 for the transmission. Check out the FAQ in this section,

Thomas:

+2 on the OEM or Valvoline ATF+4 for the trans and transfer case. You will need 5-7 quarts for the trans, and 2 quarts for the transfer case.

Your front and rear diffs will like Mobil 1 75/90 gear oil, and 3 quarts will be fine.

Dont forget there are two filters in the trans pan. A sump filter that bolts on and a spin on filter in the return line from the trans cooler.

Thomas:

What kind of auto parts places are around you there in Germany? I am not sure which places in the US ship across the pond, and what shipping would cost you.

Possibly you could check out the German Ebay page and gain some information there.
