Default Dead Battery again codes, finally-HELP!

After one month, new battery died, assumed it was new battery, replaced with another new battery, it dies a month later. Second time it died I got codes P0700, U1120, P0562 they then disappeared on their own. Obviously it is not the battery. Anyone else had this happen. Autozone says alternator putting out right voltage. Suggested loose or corroded power lines on starter or altenator. Looking for the right answer! 2004 Dodge Durango 5.7 liter 80,000 miles. Thanks!

I don't have the answer for you, but do have information on the codes. Hope this helps:

P0700 -- just telling you a DTC has been stored.

U1120 -- lost wheel distance message. The PCM doesn't receive a wheel distance message from the Anti-lock brake Module over the CAN C bus. Possible causes are the CAN C bus circuit open or shorted, the anti-lock brake module, or the PCM.

P0562 -- battery voltage low. This is set if the battery voltage of the Transmission Control Relay Output Sense circuit(s) to the PCM is less than 10.0 volts for the period of 15 seconds. Note: P0562 generally indicates a gradually falling battery voltage or a resistive connection(s) to the PCM. The DTC will also set if the battery voltage sensed at the PCM is less than 6.5-volts for 200 msec or where Transmission Control Relay Output circuits are less than 7.2-volts for 200 msec.

HD04:

Sounds like you have some type of parasitic drain on the battery. Something in there is drawing the battery down over time.

Do you take lots of short trips? Does it get parked for long periods of time without being started and driven?

My 04 has a circuit that shuts power off to any factory installed systems after an hour or so to keep from killing the battery.

Are there any aftermarket systems installed on it?

Don
