Exclamation chrome door handle problems

Hi people. I am back again for more advice. I bought a set of FTP chrome handles for my 2006 durango hemi. Wow look awesome. Put them on sunday and now they are loose. I managed to get them off ok. I love the look of them but the 3m tape will not stick well? I want them on there for good. They are stainless steel and chrome. I was thinking of cleaning the door handles really well and using contact cement. Any ideas or suggestions. I wrote to the company I bought them from and this is their response:

Hello. Dodge handles have a silicone base in them and they need to be really cleaned well. I owned a 2005 ram and i had to clean them with rubbing alcohol ad windex. Then i used a hair dryer to heat the glue on the top of the tape.

You can use contact cement or i can send you some new 3m tape.
If you do not get them really clean the first time the glue will have a hard time sticking.

Use the contact cement or if you want i can send you new 3m tape.
If some are not sticking don't leave them on. Either use the contact cement of wait till i send you some new tape.

Thanks for any help guys!!!

3M makes a tape called VHB that the use in skyscraper windows to hold them in place without mechanical fasteners. Are these plastic ABS covers?

I am going to try the contact cement. I hope it works one shot at it I believe. Any input before Thursday would be greatly appreciated.
