Default Doors Lock Automatically when Motor is running and door is closed

Doors Lock Automatically when Motor is running and door is closed. This great security feature has caused me more than heartburn a few times---so the question how do I change that option ??

I've scanned to Owners Manual for way to long and can't find even a hint about how that is controlled

Thanks

Will it lock while the gear is in park and not when it is moved out of gear, like into drive?
So you start the car in park, shut the door and then it automatically locks the doors,

I had that issue on my 1998, yet it's not a factory. I did a bit of looking around and found out it had remote start w/ keyless entry built in, and that was doing it. Locked me out of the car 4 hours after I got it.

I guess this would only apply to you if the car is used and you didn't know it had remote start when you got it. Unless, if you have owned this car since new, that wouldn't make sense for you to not know if it had remote start or not.
