Can the check engine codes be gotten from doing the ignition on/off on a 2005 Dodge Durango Limited?

I know you can for the 2007 models, but Auto Zone or similar stores will usually pull them fr free,

Yes you can. I have done that with 04's and 05's. I would imagine all of them will do it.

You can also see how many hours of running time are on the engine by having the ignition on in the run position with the engine off. Then, hold the trip odometer reset down for up to 30 seconds and you should see XXXX hrs appear in the odometer window.

I did try the engine hours and it said 1608 hrs for the 2005 Durango limited. pretty low hours, I devided that by the yrs 6 and I get 268 hrs devide by 52 weeks= 5.15 hours a week it was used for the 6 years. The owner said it was used by his wife and not used much.
