2005 Durango limited Tire Questions
#11
I just sold my bronco and bought an 04 durango, so really don't have much experience with the tires on the durango.
I know most are knocking the good year tires, but i was quite happy with them. on the bronco i had good year at/s tires which were great on snow (they cleared the snow perfectly) and dirt but a bit hard on pavement, so when it was wet they were not the best. Last year I bought a set of the new AT/s's which are the silent armor with kevlar on the side walls. These things were great on the dirt, roads wet or dry - a definite improvement. On the snow on the other hand they gripped well but they did not clear the snow as well from the treads but they were definitely better on ice. I actually had to put the truck on 4x4 once last winter where as with the previous ones I never had to.
One thing I got to say about the good year at/s's is that i never ever had a flat in 10 years. I did finally cut the side wall on one tire doing some off roading one day, but it never did leak. I will be putting silent armors on the durango next year.
