Default Lock Malfunction

my 2005 Durango has the locks that self lock when the truck gets above 15mph or so. But lately, once locked, they will randomly try to relock, and relock, and relock, every 3 to 5 seconds for as long as the truck stays running. Turning off the engine and restarting clears it and it may be fine.

It seems to happen more when it's been sitting in the sun all day, but it's happened when it was below freezing, too.

The locks work as normal, except for this one glitch.

What can cause it? Is there a relay or something dedicated to just the self locking above 15mph?

They are wet and the moisture is causing the issues. Used to be a TSB for the same issue on Gen1s.

I'll take them apart and look. But we're 3 months since the last time it rained here, in tripple digit heat, and it often reaches 140+ inside the truck. Not sure how they would still be wet.

Here was my saga on the same-ish issue. It represents my first forum post Durango related ever.

As for dry and not raining, no car washes?
